It’s one of the best weeks of the year and is in the running for THE best week of the year.
For me, the only thing that can top it is the first week of the NCAA Basketball Tournament or the week leading up to Christmas when there are Christmas movies leading up the the “big day.”
Shark Week, for my family, is a summer tradition. It signifies that summertime is really here, even more than the first pitch of baseball.

I even used to throw Shark Week parties where we made up our own drinking game to celebrate the best week of the year.
We also know that that Sara is in love with sharks, so it’s no surprise that we have our own drinking game.
I know it’s a few days late but here is that very game to help make Shark Week even better, if that is even possible.
Official SaraBozich.com Shark Week Drinking Game
- Take a drink every time someone with an Australian or British accent speaks.
- Take a drink every time someone is called a “shark expert” (aka the coolest job ever)
- Wanna get a real good buzz on? Find out when Air Jaws, you know the one where it seems like Great Whites are flying, and take a drink from when the shark breaches the water until it goes back in. Those slow-mos are killers, but fun.
- Every time there is a shark attack statistic take a drink.
- Take a tug every time someone says “thats a big shark” or “thats a big fish.”
- The classic, drink whenever they mention “Jaws.” Also, drink for as long as the iconic classic Jaws music is being played.
- Three drinks if the shark expert calls Tiger Sharks the “garbage disposals of the sea.”
- Anytime someone is attacked by a shark.
- Finish your drink anytime they call finding the Great White mating ground the “holy grail” of shark science (I know that’s specific but watch out, it will get ya).
- When in doubt, just drink, early and often. It is always my last rule in drinking games.
Shark Week is awesome and adding a few beers to that can only make it better. I’m not shark expert but I am an expert in turning watching TV into drinking fun.
Also, try out this awesome Shark Cocktail for your party:
Shark Week Official Drink
- 1 part Rum
- 2 parts Blue Curacao
- A little mango juice
- Shark gummy to top the whole thing off
